Why I Oppose the Coal Plant by Nathaniel Windy Boy

There are many reasons why I donŐt want the coal plant built in Highwood.  One is that I am Native American and we as Native People respect the earth.  We treat it as we would our mother.  And I donŐt think anyone in the right mind would be polluting their own family.  Also the burning of coal is the most polluting way to generate electricity.  Why would we do that when there are other sources of electricity including water, wind and solar?  These sources of energy do not pose the same array of environmental and public health consequences.  Then being a tribal college student and living in Rocky Boy, we have nothing to gain from the coal plant, no money or electricity.  The only thing we will get is pollutants in our environment that could harm our future generations.  Those are a few reasons I oppose the coal plant.
