Subject: MERCURY RULE VOTE FRIDAY! HELP!!!!!!

This Friday is the vote on the mercury rule. I really really need two

things from you. First, can you make it to Helena. It is going to look

bad if I am the only one there that wants a strong rule. Industry will

be there in force. They have been meeting with the Gov's office, board

members and calling the board. Is there any chance you can take the

morning and show up? PLEASE! This is it. This is our one chance to get

it right!

Second, we need phone calls to board members ASAP! The Gov's office

is putting a TON of pressure on these guys to go with a modified cap

and trade rule that doesn't require real reductions until 2018 and

allows companies to buy and sell credits. If we don't put pressure on

the board they WILL fold! We need as many phone calls as possible to

the people below. Could you send this out to anyone you know? Thanks.

Anne

 - URGENT -

LAST CHANCE TO SPEAK UP FOR MERCURY CONTROLS AT COAL PLANTS!

 ACT TODAY

This Friday, Sept. 15th the Board of Environmental Review will vote  on

a mercury rule for coal-fired power plants. This rule is critical  to

controlling the vast majority of the mercury emissions in Montana.

Board members are receiving a TON of pressure to cave to industry and

adopt a cap-and-trade program that doesn't require much in the way of

control until 2018. It is urgent that you phone members of the board

and tell them to vote to protect public health, not industries' profit

margin. I am begging you to act today! This is the only chance we get,

so PLEASE help and phone board members right now! Here is the order of

importance for phone calls:

The message is - protect public health by having a strong, protective rule that does NOT allow the buying and selling of a neurotoxin that will poison people downwind of these plants.

Protect public health!

P.S. Please share this with anyone else who might be willing to contact the board members! Remember you have to call them before they  leave for Helena on Thurs. afternoon!
